 People with Non-Verbal Learning Disorder May Have:​

  • Strong Verbal Abilities: Strong verbal abilities, including good vocabulary and language comprehension.

  • Social Skills Deficits: Difficulty reading nonverbal cues, such as body language, facial expressions, and tone of voice, which can lead to misunderstandings in social interactions.

  • Visual-Spatial Challenges: Struggles with tasks that require understanding spatial relationships, such as reading maps, interpreting diagrams, or judging distances.

  • Motor Coordination Difficulties: Poor fine motor skills, leading to challenges with handwriting, sports, and other physical tasks requiring coordination.

  • Difficulty with Math and Abstract Concepts: Struggles with mathematics and abstract reasoning, as these areas heavily rely on visual-spatial skills.
